A note from Donal
This is the grown-ups' pudding that closes out Christmas in our house, and my best advice from the show still stands: do yourself a favour and make it on Christmas Eve if you can, so the fridge does the work while you're busy with everything else. It's a proper tiramisu built up in a retro trifle dish so everyone can marvel at the layers — coffee-soaked biscuits, vanilla mascarpone cream, thick shavings of dark chocolate and pools of caramel. On the big day all that's left to do is carry this thing of beauty to the table.
